Capcom Warns Hacked Monster Hunter Wilds Quests Could Make Game Unplayable

Capcom is warning players about Monster Hunter Wilds mods that saying using them by mistake could make the game unplayable.

Monster Hunter Wilds has a cheating problem. Capcom has released Title Update 1 but some players are changing game files to cheat by boosting their rewards or climbing the leaderboards unfairly. This is making the game harder for others. Thankfully Capcom is acting fast and giving advice on how to deal with cheaters but these hacked quests are still a big issue.

Capcom says that some people have changed the game data in Monster Hunter Wilds without permission. These changes were made for things like testing and checking the game world. Capcom shared a chart that shows the most monsters and rewards you can get in Wilds. This helps you tell if your quest has been changed. The developer also said that additional countermeasures are planned in future updates to keep you from getting stuck. Capcom further stated that it cannot personally determine if the quest has been modified or not and that it is unable to provide support for any issues that arise from data manipulation. Capcom is working on better ways to protect players from cheaters. but they also have some advice. If you find yourself in a quest that seems to be modified leave the quest right away and restart the game. The game only autosaves when the results screen appears and so leaving early can help you avoid getting extra rewards and possibly getting into trouble.
