In Diablo 4 Season 8 Blizzard is making changes to the Season Journey to help you progress faster. You will get more Smoldering Ashes earlier and can use them to activate powerful buffs sooner. With the challenge increasing as Belial the Lord of Lies becomes the new top boss. I'm So glad to know I will be getting bonuses earlier in Season 8.

No matter where you are in Diablo 4. the Season Journey is important for your progress. Blizzard’s system has chapters to complete each offering rewards. One reward is Smoldering Ashes which you can use to unlock blessings that give buffs. You can increase the chance for certain items to drop or make Belial appear more often after defeating a Lair Boss it’s up to you.

Blessings make the RPG easier to play and Smoldering Ashes are needed to use them well. Starting with Season 8 Blizzard is changing how you get these Ashes in the Season Journey so you can get them faster.

From now on you will get two Smoldering Ashes for completing chapters two and three. You will also get three Ashes up to chapter seven with one extra Ash available through a chapter objective.

Diablo 4's director of social Adam PezRadar Fletcher says the previous reward system kept most of Smoldering Ashes and the Seasonal Pet Reward (Iris) locked behind chapter seven of the Season Journey.

We have made updates to redistribute these earlier in the Season Journey. These changes will take effect when Season 8 starts on Tuesday April 29. Because of the way this was updated before the season began players will see incorrect tooltips and information on the Season Journey until a client update is released after Season 8 launches.

We think these changes will make it easier for players to progress and earn Iris in the new season. We will share more details once we have information on the client update to update the in-game tooltips.
