Diablo 4's New Reliquaries Battle Pass Faces Rocky Start

Diablo 4 Season 8 introduces Reliquaries but Blizzard's battle pass replacement has faced bugs and criticism.

Diablo 4 Season 8 is important for many reasons especially the new Reliquaries system which replaces the old battle pass. Inspired by Call of Duty. it divides rewards into pages and lets players unlock them in any order. However things aren't going smoothly. Blizzard admitted there is a bug that charges players for the premium pass but does not give it to them. Many Diablo fans are also unhappy with the new system.

Let's fix this bug first. If I were you I’d avoid buying any premium Diablo 4 Season 8 Reliquary pages until Blizzard confirms the issue is fixed. Right now players are being charged the right amount in Platinum (the paid currency) but aren't getting what they bought. A community manager filthierich posted on the RPG forums saying Thanks for sharing. and We are looking into the issue with Reliquaries not working properly. Blizzard might have some long-term issues to fix. Many fans on forums and Reddit are criticizing the new Reliquaries. While I think the prices are fair for a premium battle pass (buying all three premium Reliquary pages costs 1,000 Platinum or $9.99 / £8.39) fans are saying there are fewer rewards in the new system.

If you complete all four pages of the premium battle pass you will get 34 items. This does not include the bonus armor set and pet from the more expensive Deluxe pass. The old battle pass had 90 tiers. but some were for Platinum and Smoldering Ashes bundles.

Blizzard has removed smaller rewards like titles and emotes focusing mainly on armor weapons and mounts in Reliquary pages. Some rewards are full armor sets not just pieces. However the main issue is that you only get 200 Platinum after finishing the pass much less than the 700 Platinum from the old battle pass. This Platinum can be used to lower the cost of the next season's pass.

The change in rewards and the reduction in Platinum paid by a premium Reliquary has caused frustration. One user says Reliquaries are a big downgrade because of greed. Another user mentions The new system nearly makes me not want to play this season.

Even though the new seasonal rewards system offers more flexibility and cuts down on fat. it is not getting the positive response I expected. It will be interesting to see how Blizzard reacts to the criticism and if it leads to changes in next season’s Reliquary or the system overall.

Diablo 4 Season 8 has some good things. but if the new battle pass makes you unsure here are some other great co-op games to try.
