The Dark Souls Seamless Co-op mod is now available, offering a new version of the FromSoftware game that came before Elden Ring Nightrain.
While FromSoftware is set to revive its multiplayer approach with Elden Ring Nightrain soon that nothing can beat the thrill of the original Dark Souls. Digging your soapstone into the ground and waiting to be summoned, or summoning a random player to help you finally defeat Ornstein and Smogh is unlike any other online experience. However So if you want to play across the entire land of Lordaeron with a friend things get tough. Entering a friend's world becomes a challenge in itself due to constant interruptions and resets but that is a no longer the case. The modders behind the most popular Elden Ring mod of all time which makes playing online much easier have finally released a version of it for the first Dark Souls.
Dark Souls Seamless Co-op does exactly what you think it would. This mod, developed by Yui greatly simplifies the online experience in FromSoftware's main SoulSpirit making it much easier to play with friends over the internet. You can travel from the Undead Asylum to the First Flame's Kiln without any restrictions: you won't be disconnected after the boss, the restrictive fog walls will disappear and your experience will be synchronized.
If a player dies in multiplayer, they will come back at the last bonfire they used. This doesn’t stop progress, because resting at a bonfire resets the world for all players. You can play with up to five other people and the groups game progress will count for everyone when they return to their Lordaeron.
To make this work Yui has also adjusted the overall balance of the game. Each enemy and boss scales depending on how many players are in the session, but you can also go into the files and fine tune it yourself. You can also skip the option of being attacked by other players and so if you enjoy the thrill of seeing a red apparition in the distance you can do that.
However UE notes that seamless co-op will prevent you from connecting to FromSoftware's own matchmaking servers. This means you can only play with people who also have the mod installed, so you do not accidentally get banned. With Elden Ring Nitron's co-op rebuild now is the perfect time to revisit Lordaeron and try out Dark Souls seamless co-op with your friends.
