I think I speak for Most people are probably tired of multiplayer shooters by now. In 2024 games like Concord and XDefiant came and went and while Fragpunk has made some impact in 2025. interest in FPS games is very low. Now there’s FBC Firebreak a new co-op shooter from Remedy Entertainment the creators of Alan Wake and Max Payne. Set in the world of Control it is one of the most unique takes on the genre in a while, and it now has a release date.

FBC Firebreak seems like any other co-op FPS game. You play 3-player missions called Jobs fight monsters upgrade your gear and repeat. It is similar to games like Helldivers 2 and Warhammer 40k: Space Marine 2 making it feel like just another game in a crowded genre.

This is Remedy and The Oldest House. The enemies you face aren’t ordinary monsters they are the terrifying beings from Control the developer’s great action-adventure game. You will need to fight these enemies while dealing with unpredictable weather that can mess up your plans and affect how you complete your tasks.

Each job is divided into three zones that you need to clear one room at a time. Our trio faces a monster made of sticky notes with yellow papers sticking to your visor and blocking your view as you move through its plain beige lair. You might say it is nature fighting back against deforestation or you might call it crazy it is up to you.

You won’t be using regular weapons. Instead the world is full of strange and creative gear like a goo gun and other unusual weapons. There is a lot happening and while I have seen alien bugs in games like Helldivers and Space Marine nothing like this before.

Remedy has confirmed that FBC Firebreak will launch on Tuesday June 17. The base game will cost $49.99 / £39.99 and the deluxe edition will be priced at $59.99 / £46.99. The game does not have a battle pass or extra purchases. Instead the Requisition system lets players earn in-game money to spend on cosmetics similar to Helldivers.
