Season 2 of League of Legends is almost here and the 25.09 patch notes share details about the Atakhan rework Bounty changes and more.
That's right Atakhan once having two forms in League of Legends is now only one form the Thornbound. It still spawns on the Rift where there’s been the most PvP action. In Season 2 the team that defeats him gets a Bloody Petal bonus and all remaining Bloody Roses on the map which turn into Spirit Petals. These Spirit Petals boost XP by 25% and increase Adaptive Force. The team also gets a buff called Spiritual Purification which lasts the rest of the match. This buff slows and damages any enemies near a Takedown.
Patch 25.09 will bring big changes for support and jungle players. Junglers will automatically get Smite with only one allowed per team and support players will start with World Atlas. Riot says this is to prevent trolling and costly mistakes and that it won't affect gameplay because Smite and World Atlas are essential. Also you will now be able to swap roles during champion select.
The Bounty system has changed to help losing teams catch up instead of causing snowballing. There are also updates in the Void pit with adjustments to spawn timers rewards, and damage for Void Grubs and the Rift Herald. Season 2 introduces upgrades to Riot's griefing detection system aiming to reduce issues with problematic teammates.
As for champion balance Ashe K'Sante and Orianna are getting buffs while Gwen Kalista and Yorick are being nerfed. The graphic below shows the main winners and losers.
