ARC Raiders A Strong Contender to Marathon Already Thriving on Steam

The playtest for ARC Raiders a colorful shooter game from the creators of The Finals has been very popular on Steam.

Bungie is working on Marathon while Embark Studios the developer of The Finals is making its own extraction shooter called ARC Raiders. The recent five-day playtest has shown a positive response so it looks like the game is starting strong.

The second playtest of ARC Raiders has just ended letting players try out the retro-futuristic multiplayer game. On Steam 21,515 players joined in to fight against the ARC machines.

The playtest went well though some people thought it ended too quickly. Players have praised the in-game economy and how it encourages teamwork. The game's colorful style which is a mix of Fallout and Marathon is also a big highlight.

One playtester mentioned on Reddit. I can confidently say that this weekend has been some of the most fun I have had gaming in years. Another person said This is the first time a Tech Test/Beta/Demo has completely taken over my thoughts.

There were complaints about cheaters and Embark Studios will likely work on fixing that. Some players didn’t fully like the third-person view in ARC Raiders. but it hasn't hurt Marvel Rivals.

The playtest was by invitation only and at its highest point more people were playing ARC Raiders than The Finals another game by Embark Studios. Embark's stats show that playtesters completed a huge total of four million rounds of ARC Raiders.

ARC Raiders doesn't have a fixed release date yet. but it's planned for 2025. Embark Studios will likely do more playtests including at least one open playtest So stay tuned. Just make sure your PC meets the games minimum requirements.
