In 2010 games like Fallout New Vegas the original Black Ops and others made it a good year for gaming though not the best. There were some great titles like Halo Reach Red Dead Redemption and Civilization 5 but many games are now forgotten. Over time many games and studios have disappeared. However one forgotten game has somehow survived. Canceled 15 years ago it’s a mix of Prince of Persia God of War and Assassin's Creed: Black Flag. It wasn’t supposed to be released but now the nearly legendary game Captain Blood is available on Steam.

The story of Captain Blood starts in 2003 when Akella the company behind the Postal games announced it would make a pirate game based on Rafael Sabatini’s books. After showing it at E3 in 2004. they restarted development. Playlogic known for Obscure 2 became the publisher. But in 2006 the game’s progress stopped again and development was restarted a second time. The first trailer came out in 2008 and a website launched in 2010 but after that there was no more news.

But This Time Fifteen years later Captain Blood is back. The full game has been put together again and relaunched on Steam thanks to Seawolf one of the original developers and General Arcade who helped with the port. It now features a bold cartoonish visual style with plenty of gore and pirates. The game takes inspiration from Prince of Persia: Sands of Time and the early God of War games. Even though it's been a long time it's still an interesting game. If you want to try it check it out here.
