Blades of Fire is an exciting new action RPG. It combines the powerful feel of God of War the challenging combat of Dark Souls and lets you create your own weapons. The game is launching soon but you can try it now with a free demo. Best of all any progress you make will carry over to the full game.

There are already so many action games out there that it's tough for something like Blades of Fire to get noticed especially since it’s not a big-budget title. Still it’s doing more than most similar games to grab my attention.

The story starts with an interesting idea. You play as Aran de Lira a lone warrior fighting against an evil queen named Nerea. She rules the world with no one to stop her until now. What makes things worse is that she cast a spell that turned all steel into stone so no one can make weapons. But Aran gets a special hammer that isn't affected by the magic. With it he can forge weapons again and stand a chance at defeating the queen.

One of the main features that makes Blades of Fire unique is its detailed weapon crafting system. When you forge a weapon you start by picking a type, like a sword or hammer. Then you get to customize everything the shape of the blade the length of the handle the style of the pommel, and even the materials used.

Every choice you make affects how your weapon works. Heavy blades do more damage and last longer but use more stamina. The length of the weapon changes how far you can hit. How heavy the weapon is affects how fast you can attack. You can also give each weapon a special name, which is a nice detail.

After you finish your design you play a blacksmithing minigame. You need to be careful and accurate to make your weapon just right. If you make mistakes The weapon’s durability might go down.

The fighting in Blades of Fire is like other hard games where you need to dodge, block and keep distance. It also feels like the game God of War because it looks tough and full of action. The enemies look scary and cool. There is a special armor system that makes you think carefully about where to hit and which weapon to use to beat the enemies.
