Brutal Soulslike ARPG No Rest for the Wicked Boosts Loot Drops as Reviews Decline

Moon Studios improves loot drops and experience gains in the soulslike ARPG No Rest For The Wicked after delaying the tough Breach update.

Grinding Gear Games is making loot drops tougher in Path of Exile 2 and Moon Studios is doing something similar with its game No Rest for the Wicked. The new update The Breach adds more areas weapons bosses and endgame features to the game which has a Diablo-like style. However the update may have been too harsh as recent Steam reviews dropped to just 43% positive. To fix this Moon Studios has released its first major hotfix to make the game a bit easier.

The Breach has made No Rest for the Wicked bigger. but the tough battles have made players feel the fights take too long gear upgrades are too rare and progress is too slow. We have seen your feedback and we hear you. says the games developer in the patch notes for a new hotfix. Things didn’t turn out as we wanted and that’s our fault.

The new update makes several changes: You now earn more experience from defeating enemies. including bosses and there’s no cap on XP from high-level enemies. The parry window for enemy attacks is bigger and the medium roll has more invincibility frames. Firing arrows costs less focus and the same goes for the Illuminate and Return runes. The Polished Caretaker boss has been rebalanced and you can now interrupt attacks from the Bonded Witch Nith Screamer and Shackled Brute.

The cost of gear upgrades is now one-third of what it used to be and repairs are a bit cheaper. The gear score system has changed. So you are more likely to get a great item now and then. You’ll find fewer plagued gears but more herbs, fallen embers weapon shards and ore veins. Filmore and Whittacker have more items in their shops with Filmore offering two extra weapons for more variety early on. You can also craft the Cleric armor set directly now.

Moon Studios made some simple UI updates. They improved the bounties and challenges screen to make it easier to sort and see how hard each one is. The backstab indicator now appears and disappears faster helping you know when to strike.
