Elden Ring has sold 30 million copies making it a huge success. I'm happy for the studio reaching this milestone. but what excites me most is what comes next now that the game has found its success.

Balancing It All The Challenges of Juggling Multiple Priorities

FromSoftware has a lot going on. Elden Ring Nightreign is coming out in a few weeks The Duskbloods will be released in 2026 for Nintendo Switch 2 and there are a few other unannounced games in development according to CEO Hidetaka Miyazaki.

He told Game Watch last year that there are multiple projects in the works and different genres being explored which has fans including me, excited to see what they’ll try.

Nightreign and The Duskbloods aren't typical FromSoft single-player games. So people are wondering what else the company is working on. Miyazaki hints that there are multiple projects in the works which makes it seem like FromSoft fans will have plenty to look forward to. This is likely because Elden Ring's success has allowed the studio to take on more projects at once.

In recent years FromSoft has worked on two games at once letting them release games more quickly. Miyazaki's statement suggests there are three or four games in development the two we know about and at least one more.

FromSoftware Embraces Experimentation After Success

What excites FromSoftware fans about Elden Ring’s success isn’t just more games being made. but how the studio uses past successes to create something new. After Dark Souls FromSoftware made Dark Souls 2, a simple follow-up but also created Bloodborne directed by Miyazaki. Bloodborne took Dark Souls ideas and gave them a fresh twist becoming one of the most loved games ever.

After Dark Souls 3's success FromSoft made Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice which was very different from Dark Souls and Bloodborne but still had that signature FromSoftware style. Now with the success of Elden Ring I'm excited to see what new and unique ideas they come up with next.

Elden Ring’s success is impressive and shouldn’t be overlooked. It’s amazing that FromSoftware starting with Demon’s Souls turned a niche idea into a game that outsold Madden, Fifa and Pokemon in its release year. I’m So happy for FromSoftware they deserve it. but I’m also excited for the fans because it’s clear we will be enjoying great games for years.
