A horror game like Dead by Daylight set in the Evil Dead world sounded like a great idea. But sadly Evil Dead The Game didn’t last. The creators stopped adding new content last year and now the game is being removed from stores including Steam.

Evil Dead: The Game started off well because the Evil Dead movies are very popular. It included Ash Williams and other favorite characters in a multiplayer horror game. In just five days after its release in May 2022. it sold 500,000 copies pretty impressive And that was before it even came to Steam which happened about a year later. But even with this strong start the game did not become very popular in the horror game world where Dead by Daylight is still the top choice.

In September 2023 Saber Interactive and Boss Team Games said they would stop adding new content to the game. This means no new characters weapons, maps or game modes. The game could still be bought and played online. but the developers would no longer update it. As a goodbye gift they turned on double XP and double Soul Points forever so players could level up faster.

Now Evil Dead: The Game is being taken off all online stores and won’t be available to buy anymore. Earlier this week it quietly disappeared from the Epic Games Store and PlayStation Store. Now the makers of the game Saber and Boss Team have confirmed it's also being removed from Steam and the Xbox Store.

Anyone who bought the game can still play it because we are keeping the servers online. Thank you to everyone in our community both longtime players and new ones. We really appreciate your support.

It's nice that people who already play the game can still enjoy it together. but it's sad to see the game removed from stores. If you were thinking about getting Evil Dead but didn’t buy it it looks like it’s too late now.
