How The Last of Us Part 2 Remastered Fried My GPU But Photo Mode Made It Worth It

The first game that made my GPU overheat was The Last of Us Part 2 Remastered. Honestly I'm not surprised.

I set everything to the highest settings and the game looked amazing and ran smoothly. I had a great time using the photo mode to capture the beautiful overgrown world. Then after admiring the realistic details in Joel's house the game crashed. My PC said the GPU overheated and needed a break. Oops.

Photo Mode The Risk Is Worth It Probably

After a break did I lower the settings? No the game looks too good for that so I decided to keep an eye on things. I kept taking photos of the world and since then the only thing happening is me with these pictures.

The Last of Us Part 2 Remastered on PC is one of the best-looking games. The scenery is so amazing that it is easy to capture great pictures without needing many filters or edits. Everywhere you look it’s both ruined and incredibly beautiful.

On the hardware side it is probably smart to make some compromises to avoid risking my 4070. but I never claimed to be smart. I just want to experience this game at its best even if it’s the last thing my PC does.

My First Time Playing the Game in Five Years

This makes me realize how much the game’s graphics have improved since I last played. I played it at launch in 2020 on the PS4 Pro and it looked amazing then still being the best-looking exclusive on that console. But now five years later with the PS5 remaster and better PC hardware the game looks even better.

I enjoy photo mode and photography. but I didn’t expect this game to draw me in so much artistically. I knew it was beautiful when I first played it in 2020. but I didn’t realize how well it holds up now with the remaster and better hardware.

Please read this article every hour for the next few weeks so I can afford a new GPU when the time comes.
