Payday 3 hasn't done as well as fans and its creator hoped. As the third game in a popular co-op series people expected a lot from Starbreeze Studios. But the game hasn’t caught on especially with players sticking to other multiplayer games like Helldivers 2. GTFO or even Payday 2. Starbreeze has been updating the game regularly but their latest and biggest step is taking over the publishing rights for Payday 3.

Payday 3 was released in 2023 but it hasn’t been as successful as the game before it. This is mainly because of technical problems at launch ongoing player complaints and even the developers at Starbreeze admitted the game felt unfinished and gave players a bad experience.

Starbreeze will now have more control over Payday 3. The studio made a deal with the original publisher Plaion allowing Starbreeze to fully own the publishing rights for the game.

The result of this agreement is that it will help Starbreeze speed up content development and explore more business opportunities for the Payday franchise. Since the game needs frequent updates to improve quickly the hope is that Starbreeze is now in a better position to fix ongoing player complaints and make Payday 3 the way both the company and its players have wanted for over a year.
