With Season 3 of The First Descendant coming soon Nexon is working on fixing the games current lack of updates.
Lately you might be thinking There's not much to do in the game has development stopped? It's normal to feel this way during slower times and we totally understand and share your concerns writes Minseok Joo the director of The First Descendant in a new open letter.
A lot of players have stopped playing the free Steam game since it was released. The number of players online at the same time recently reached around 7,500 which is a big drop from the 264,000 it had at launch. Players also complained to Nexon when the developer made some unpopular changes earlier this year and it seems like the game has been having trouble since then.
Season 3 might be different. Joo says Nexon is focusing on what's coming next. Right now our team is focused on developing the Season 3 update. We thought about doing smaller updates in the meantime but we decided it might affect the quality of Season 3. Instead of quick fixes We chose to focus on making Season 3 the best it can be.
But that doesn't mean we're forgetting about everything else while working on Season 3 Joo says. We have been looking at feedback from the community fixing problems and getting improvements ready in order of importance. We are making good progress for the updates on May 22 and June 19.
Nexon has some updates coming to The First Descendant. On Thursday May 15 there will be a balance change for Void Erosion Purge missions removing skill penalties. Then on May 22. updates for Dynamic Motion, Arche Tuning Socket and Void Abyss Intercept Battle will be released along with a four-week login event. Also a balance patch will come before Season 3.
Our current updates might seem small but they are important steps toward making Season 3 better and stronger Joo says. We know no one cares more about the game than the players who keep playing every day. We are dedicated to earning the trust you have given us.
