Many players can't get the PC version of Stellar Blade because of a problem with linking their Playstation accounts.
You can now pre-order the game Stellar Blade for PC on Steam and Epic Games Store. The game was first released on PS5 over a year ago. But some people in certain countries cannot pre-order it because the game is blocked there. This is because you need a PlayStation Network account to play which is causing problems like before with another game called Helldivers 2. The game makers didn’t know this would happen and are surprised the game is locked in some regions.
Sony made a mistake by posting a trailer too early. Now the release date for the game Stellar Blade on PC is official. You can pre-order it on Steam and Epic. There is a regular version and a Complete Edition which has extra things like new outfits and game money. The game works well on Steam Deck supports very wide screens and lets you play with a high frame rate if your computer is strong. It sounds pretty great.
There might be a problem again with linking PSN accounts. Some fans in certain countries say they can’t pre-order the game Stellar Blade on Steam. There is no official rule that says you must link your Steam and PlayStation accounts to play the game. But the countries where people are blocked don’t have PSN service. According to SteamDB the game is not available in 129 countries. Most of these countries except Vietnam are not supported by PlayStation.
Last year Helldivers 2 was removed from Steam in more than 170 countries and got a lot of bad reviews from players. Sony tried to make players link their PSN accounts but many people were upset. Because of the strong reaction Sony quickly changed their mind and has been more careful about this since then.
It’s surprising that Stellar Blade might have problems again. Not only gamers are confused but the game maker Shift Up is confused too. They said The PC version of Stellar Blade does not need a PSN account. Where do you live? with a shocked face emoji. Other replies also had sad or confused emojis.
Shift Up thinks you won’t need to link a PSN account to play Stellar Blade on Steam. So either Sony made a mistake by adding this when they put the game on Steam or they did it on purpose but didn’t tell the developer properly. I think they will fix this before the PC version comes out so there won’t be any problems like with Helldivers 2. We will keep you updated.
Stellar Blade on Steam uses a program called Denuvo to protect the game from being copied without permission. Some people don’t like Denuvo because it can cause problems but the game makers say it won’t slow down the game or affect how it looks, even on older computers. Most people won’t mind this but if you really don’t like Denuvo it could be a problem for you.
