Bethesda games and modding go together perfectly. Over the years we have seen amazing mods like Skyblivion and Fallout London. One of the biggest is Tamriel Rebuilt which adds new areas to The Elder Scrolls 3: Morrowind based on the game's story. It's already a huge mod and now it has its biggest update yet.

Grasping Fortune is a big update for Tamriel Rebuilt helping the project reach its goal of making all of Morrowind playable. In the original game you can only explore the island of Vvardenfell. but this project is expanding the map to include more areas including the borders with Skyrim and Cyrodiil. Grasping Fortune adds a large new area to the south extending towards Black Marsh and includes Narsis the capital of House Hlaalu in Morrowind.

The Tamriel Rebuilt team says that this city with more than 200 unique interiors and a huge exterior is one of the largest custom-made cities in an Elder Scrolls game. It's also the biggest settlement the modders have built so far.

Besides Narsis there are many other places from Elder Scrolls that fans might recognize. These include the Hlaalu towns like Hlerynhul, Othmura, Sadrathim and Shipal-Sharai. The rugged canyon-filled Shipal-Shin area located on the border of Black Marsh and Cyrodiil is also included. You can visit the twin fortress towns of Ald Iuval and Ald Marak. It's amazing how many locations have been included all taken directly from Bethesda's great world-building.

Tamriel Rebuilt is not just adding new areas to explore it's also bringing a lot of new content to play. Grasping Fortune includes new creatures to battle 140 dungeons 270 quests and over 2,500 NPCs.

This didn't happen quickly or easily. Tamriel Rebuilt says its team of volunteers has been working on Grasping Fortune since 2018. which is seven years of hard work. If I had a hat I’d take it off to them it’s an amazing accomplishment.

The Grasping Fortune expansion for Tamriel Rebuilt in Morrowind is now available. To see all the updates check the changelog here.
