New Assassin’s Creed Shadows Update Adds Brutal New Challenge
The new Assassin’s Creed Shadows update (version 1.0.6) is coming soon and it has a lot of exciting content for players. Ubisoft is adding a brand-new collaboration quest a harder difficulty mode and many changes based on what players have asked for. There are also general fixes to improve the game.

One of the biggest highlights is a new quest made in partnership with Critical Role. This comes shortly after the recent crossover with Dead by Daylight. In this new quest you’ll get a free mission to play a new ally to join your team and an extra achievement to unlock. Ubisoft is clearly putting in a lot of effort and that’s one reason Assassin’s Creed Shadows is seen as one of the best RPGs out there.

To begin the quest called A Critical Encounter you first need to unlock Yasuke as a playable character and go to the hideout. Without giving away too much if you’ve watched Critical Role’s Assassin’s Creed Shadows one-shot you’ll really enjoy what’s in store it’s a great surprise for fans.

If you like a real challenge the new Nightmare difficulty is made just for you. It makes both fighting and sneaking around much harder. Whether you play as Naoe or Yasuke you’ll need to be at your best. Enemies hit harder your defense moves don’t work as well and parrying attacks takes perfect timing. NPCs are also smarter and more aggressive and it’s a lot tougher to find items that help in battle.

Ubisoft is finally adding a feature that fans have wanted for a long time the option to show or hide headgear during cutscenes. So if you want your character to keep their hood or helmet on in story scenes now you can. However in some moments like romantic scenes the headgear will still be hidden to keep things looking natural.

Also if your PC is struggling to run Assassin's Creed Shadows smoothly Ubisoft is making things easier. A new Ultra Low mode is being added which reduces the load on your graphics card and helps improve performance. You’ll also get the option to turn certain visual effects on or off so you can adjust the graphics based on what works best for your setup.

Ubisoft is adding a few new features in the Assassin's Creed Shadows 1.0.6 update to make exploring the game world even better. Now when you're riding your horse you can choose from three different camera views. This lets you enjoy the scenery in a way that suits your style.

Another big change is to the alert system. Before guards would only react strongly if you caused trouble near a castle. But now if you attack civilians or soldiers anywhere in a province not just near castles you'll trigger an alarm. Once that happens a group of guardians will come after you.

The 1.0.6 update will be released on Wednesday, June 25. You can check out the full patch notes shared by Ubisoft for all the details.
