Kingdom Come Deliverance 2 was very popular because people love living in a medieval world. But what if you could create your own story instead of playing as Henry? That’s what Chronicles Medieval is about. It was shown at Summer Games Fest with a trailer starring Tom Hardy. This game mixes big battles like in Total War and story choices like Crusader Kings 3. You get to explore and play freely in the 14th century.

Raw Power a new game company from Copenhagen with team members working from different countries made Chronicles Medieval. It is a mix of strategy and action role-playing set in medieval Europe. The game is big and open with changing friendships and loyalties. Your choices can change who has power. The game also has large real-time battles with hundreds of soldiers using real historical weapons and it focuses on your personal story.

You create your own character and story to start your journey to become king or queen. You can be a blacksmith, bandit, soldier or noble knight. Your choice affects the skills you have. These skills get better when you use them like when you fight in tournaments help people or do quests during your travels.

You start by looking at a world map. Then you can go into different places and explore them from a third-person view. If you become a leader you can create trade routes, hire and train soldiers, and lead them in battles. Later you might run a kingdom make money as a smart trader or become a general trying to take over the world. But the game never feels like too much work managing everything.

Chronicles Medieval is made to be an open game where your story doesn’t have a set ending. It focuses on being realistic including real historical people and religions. There are old myths and superstitions in the world but you won’t fight magical creatures. The fighting is also made to feel true to the time with real movements but sometimes the game changes things a little to make it more fun.

The studio says that Chronicles Medieval is made so players can easily create mods. They believe players can add new features missions or even fun changes like 100 Thomas the Tank Engines fighting one Master Chief. The team has worked with modders from the start to make sure the game can be a fun and flexible place for everyone who wants to create mods.

Chronicles Medieval will be available in early access in 2026. At first Raw Power will let players play custom battles together. Later when the full game is out they will add co-op for the full campaign too.
