When Clockwork Revolution release date come out? Clockwork Revolution is a new game from InXile Entertainment the team behind the Wasteland series. It’s a steampunk first-person RPG where you can use a special device to go back in time and change history.
InXile is combining its RPG skills with shooter gameplay which sounds exciting. Before you start exploring the city of Avalon here’s everything we know so far about the Clockwork Revolution release date, trailers and gameplay.
Estimated Clockwork Revolution release date
Clockwork Revolution will likely come out in 2026. It will be available on PC and Xbox Series X|S.
The trailer shown at the Xbox Games Showcase in June 2025 had a lot of gameplay but the developers didn’t share a release date. It only said the game is coming in due time. Since the game has been in development for a long time and we've seen plenty of gameplay it's unlikely that it will release as late as 2027.
We don’t know yet if Clockwork Revolution will come to PlayStation 5. But since Microsoft is now putting its games on many platforms it would be surprising if it didn’t release on PS5 too.
Gameplay Clockwork Revolution
You can learn a lot from the new 5-minute gameplay video. It starts with the character creation screen where we see the starting traits and effects for your character. Like most RPGs you can choose how to spend your stat points. These are split into different areas like agility and social skills.
To match the steampunk style the game lets you build your own weapons using parts found around the world. For example you can change a pistol by using different gun parts and metal barrels. The screen shows that there are six parts of the pistol you can change, so you can customize it the way you like.
Trailers Clockwork Revolution
The game was first shown at the Microsoft Xbox Showcase in June 2023. In it you play as a rebel fighting against Lady Ironwood the main villain. The world of Avalon has hanging railroads and steam-powered robots which are very advanced for the time period of the game.
You play as Morgan Vanette who can control and change time. In the trailer some of Morgan's choices change the future so much that a bright happy town turns into a ruined city controlled by a strict police force with robot guards.
The new trailer shows us the slums of Avalon where we meet Morgan's gang called the Rotten Row Hooligans. It looks like you can customize Morgan by changing how they look and their background story. The two trailers look very different because the first one was set in Midward a rich area of Avalon while this one is set in a poorer part.
