For 22 years Eve Online has grown from a basic space game into a huge complex world. It has its own economy, companies and player-run groups. Now in 2025 it's hard for new players to get started because there’s so much to learn. Eve Frontier even though it takes place far in the future after powerful space civilizations have fallen is a fresh start for the game. It's already available through the Founder program but soon everyone will be able to play it.

Eve Frontier still has some MMO features like a big open world and lots of players. But CCP says it's more like a survival game now. Resources are hard to find and you can die quickly. Like in games such as DayZ or Escape From Tarkov you search through a broken world and fight both computer enemies and other players to survive. Just like in Eve Online you can also build things create a faction and make your own systems in the game.

CCP is making a big open platform called Smart Assemblies. With it players can create things in the game like a portal to help others travel faster across the galaxy. But it’s not just for building objects. In one video about Eve Frontier CCP showed how some players used Smart Assemblies to make their own king-of-the-hill multiplayer game mode.

The developer wants to give players powerful tools to build anything they want in Eve Frontier. They also plan to make the game huge it will start with 20,000 star systems and grow to over 100,000 later.

Eve Frontier is not fully released yet but you can still play it in two ways. One way is to buy early access through the Founder program. There are three price options: $99.99, $69.99, or $39.99. Each one gives you different rewards like special ship skins and game time after launch. The other way is to wait for the next trial test. Sometimes the developers let a small group of people try the game for free but they don’t get the same rewards as Founders.

The Founder program is changing. CCP announced Founder Access: New Era the next step before the full launch of Eve Frontier. Now players can freely share videos, opinions and information about their gameplay. This helps Eve Online fans and new players see what the game looks like and how it plays.

New Era has a system called Cycles that change with the seasons. Each Cycle gives you new missions and challenges. When you finish these you earn points called Grace and move up on the leaderboard for that Cycle. The first Cycle called Promised Land starts on Wednesday, June 11. More Cycles will come later during New Era. If you want to join the Founder program or try the game early you can sign up here.
