New Elden Ring Nightreign Mod Brings 2-Player Co-Op Early

You can now play a new Elden Ring mod called Nightreign which focuses on two-player co-op. It was made by a well-known Dark Souls modder.

You can play Elden Ring: Nightreign alone but it was made to be played with three people working together. You're meant to team up with friends or other players online explore the world of Limveld, grow stronger and defeat powerful bosses called Nightlords. Until now you couldn’t play with just two people but that’s changed. A well-known modder has released an early version of a two-player co-op mod so now you don’t need a third person to join the fun.

Yui is one of the most well-known modders for FromSoftware games. They created the Seamless Co-op mod for Elden Ring and Dark Souls which makes it much easier to play with friends online. With this mod you can stay connected with your friends during the whole game even after dying or beating bosses. Now Yui has brought this same co-op experience to Elden Ring Nightreign.

You can play Elden Ring Nightreign alone but thanks to Yui’s new Seamless Co-op update you can now team up with just one other player. The mod is still in an early unfinished state so you might run into bugs but it works. Yui plans to improve it later. Right now it supports only two or three players and works with other mods. Don’t worry about getting banned for using it online it keeps you off the official servers and uses separate save files.

Fromsoftware is thinking about adding a two-player co-op mode to Nightreign. Earlier this year the game's director, Junya Ishizaki said they are considering it and trying to figure out how to balance it for just two players. It’s not confirmed yet but it’s nice to know they’re listening to what fans want.
