Civilization 7 is having a tough time and now Amplitude Studios has announced the release date for Endless Legend 2 the long-awaited sequel to its fantasy 4X game.
In 2014 Fraser gave Endless Legend a high score of 9 out of 10 because he liked its smart design and new ideas for the genre. Now with a new publisher called Hooded Horse, Endless Legend 2 is coming out. It is also a 4X game where each group plays very differently so every game feels fresh and different.
This time the game takes place on a new ocean planet called Saiadha. The tides change a lot sometimes the water goes back and shows new land to live on or lets you attack places that were safe before. These tide changes happen naturally in the game’s maps so the world will look very different by the end of your game.
Endless Legend 2 like the first game is played on a hexagon grid map. When battles happen the fight takes place on a special battlefield made from the land around you. Depending on which group you pick and how they act smaller groups you find while exploring can be traded with joined to your empire or defeated to make your own power stronger.
At the start Endless Legend 2 will have five groups to play. We already know about three of them. The Kin of Sheredyn are space travelers stuck on a planet trying to get back their advanced technology. The Aspects are part coral and part machine spreading over the land like a swarm. The Necrophage are fierce fighters who live in one city and can move quickly through tunnels under the ground.
Endless Legend 2 will come out on Thursday, August 7, 2025 on Steam Early Access. You can add it to your wishlist now to get a notification when it’s available. Before the full game launches there will be detailed info about the last two factions.
