Fishing makes every video game more fun. In games like Final Fantasy 15, Skyrim or Stardew Valley, stopping to fish lets me relax and enjoy the world around me. It helps me see how much work was put into making the game’s world. I like finding new ways to feel calm in games and now Fallout 76 has fishing too. Bethesda added a lot to the game with this update and I’m excited to try it out.

The main fun part of Gone Fission is fishing. In Fallout 76 you can now catch more than 30 different fish in Appalachia’s waters. What fish you catch depends on the bait you use the weather the fishing rod, and where you fish. The fish you catch can be eaten to help you feel less hungry and heal your health.

To start fishing in the game go to Fisherman’s Rest a new place in the Mire. Don’t choose koi to play. There are three new characters and a quest called Casting Off to help you begin. You will get your first fishing rod there. After that just go to any water and start fishing.

To avoid lucky catches you’ll get many new fishing challenges and daily tasks to help improve your fishing gear. When you finish these tasks you’ll earn new rods, bobbers and reels that make fishing easier. The weather and type of bait you use will also affect the fish you catch So pay attention to both to catch fish more easily.

When you catch a fish you can cut it into fish bits and use them to make grilled fish. This recipe helps you fish better for 20 minutes. The more fishing quests you finish each day the more food recipes you will get. Soon you can make dishes like fish chowder or fish and potatoes. Remember to catch a perch and finish your quests. Also there are 12 Axolotls to find each month and some Local Legends to discover. You’ll be talking about them all day.

Now that I’ve shared all my fish jokes what’s new in Fallout 76? The big update is Season 21: Gone Fission. This season has lots of fishing rewards for your character and camp. You can even get a houseboat to help you catch more fish. Also Starting with Season 21 any unused Season Tickets will turn into Gold Bullion. When you log in you’ll see a message to confirm this change. If you’re not sure you have enough space you can say no check later and the message will appear again next time you log in.

Bethesda is changing how limb damage works in Fallout 76. Instead of sometimes hurting limbs right away now weapons, perks and mods will do more damage to limbs by a certain amount. This will change how fighting works a lot.

Bethesda says these changes will make it easier to damage most enemies limbs and make the damage more steady and clear. But big enemies like bosses will be harder to cripple and need more teamwork to defeat. Also many creatures won’t be immune to limb damage anymore So the game can use these new ways to make fights more fun.

Bethesda is making it easier to craft things by removing the need to have certain perks. Since you already know the crafting plans you don’t have to change your perks to make different items anymore. They also made many small changes in the update So you might want to read the patch notes to learn more.
