The long-awaited Final Fantasy Tactics remaster is finally happening. This popular turn-based strategy game is now coming to PC for the first time.
If you ask a group of people which Final Fantasy game they like best you’ll hear lots of different answers. FF6 is a favorite for many and FF14 is also popular especially for its main story. But now one of the most loved Final Fantasy games is finally making a comeback. A remaster of Final Fantasy Tactics has been announced in the latest PlayStation State of Play and for the first time ever it’s coming to PC.
Final Fantasy Tactics (and its updated version The War of the Lions) is one of the best Final Fantasy games. It takes place in the world of Ivalice like FF12 and Vagrant Story and changes the usual gameplay into a turn-based strategy game. If you’ve played games like Fire Emblem or XCOM 2 you’ll feel right at home. Now Final Fantasy Tactics The Ivalice Chronicles brings a better version of the game along with the original classic.
Final Fantasy Tactics tells the story of Ramza Beoulve a young noble. If you play FF14 you might know him from the Stormblood raid Return to Ivalice. In Tactics Ramza gets caught in a war between two sides fighting for power. As you play you’ll uncover deep secrets and lots of twists in the story.
The game has many different jobs (or classes) and each character has their own special skills. As you level up a job you unlock tools and abilities that you can still use even if you switch to a new job. You can also get other people or even monsters to join your team and fight with you.
The Ivalice Chronicles has two versions of Final Fantasy Tactics. One is a new and improved version with voice acting, better graphics, easier menus and a beginner-friendly Squire mode. The other is the classic version just like the 1997 origina but with small updates like auto-save.
Final Fantasy Tactics: The Ivalice Chronicles will come out on Tuesday, September 30. You can play it on PC through Steam.
