GTA 5 Still Sells 5 Million Units Every Quarter 10+ Years Later

Grand Theft 5 has been released many times on different devices. It first came out on PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 in 2013.

One year later the game was released for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One with better features. In 2022 it came out again for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series consoles. Also in March a new version called GTA 5 Enhanced Edition was released for PC but people didn’t like that one as much.

Grand Theft Auto 5 is not on the Nintendo Switch yet. But maybe it will come soon because the company said they like the new Switch 2. Also it’s amazing how many copies of GTA 5 are still being sold even after many years.

Raise Your Hand If You’ve Bought GTA 5 More Than Once

GamesRadar noticed that GTA 5 sells about five million copies every three months. That means about 1.66 million copies are sold each month.

Take-Two’s new report says the 2013 game has sold 215 million copies so far. Three months ago it had sold 210 million. The whole GTA series has sold 450 million copies and GTA 5 made almost half of those sales.

The numbers are really impressive. People are not just buying GTA 5 a lot but also watching it on Twitch for over 1.4 billion hours. Many of us have even bought the game more than once. It’s amazing that the game is still popular after more than ten years. GTA 6 will probably be even more popular.
