Guild Wars 2 has a big new update called Absolution. It adds a new map a new event and more fun things to the free game.
There are many different MMORPG games to choose from today So it’s hard to pick just one. I have spent many weeks playing Final Fantasy 14’s world called Eorzea. But I also keep coming back to World of Warcraft’s Azeroth and Elder Scrolls Online’s Tamriel. Another game is Guild Wars 2 which takes place in the land of Tyria. It’s a free game that has been popular for over ten years. Last year it added new things like player housing and a new weapon the two-handed spear. Now the game has a new big update called Absolution giving you many good reasons to play again.
The best part of Absolution is the new map called Bava Nisos. It is built on the side of a big mountain and has huge halls, winding paths and an old broken city. This place used to belong to the mursaat a group that uses magic and has appeared in recent Guild Wars 2 expansions. In Bava Nisos there is a big event where you team up with other groups in the game to fight at the Mists gate in the middle of the city.
There is a new fractal dungeon called Kinfall. In it you play as a small group of kodan protecting their home. Arenanet changed how this dungeon works because of player feedback. Kinfall is easier and simpler than the recent hard fractals. It feels more like the older simpler ones. The harder challenge mode for Kinfall will come out three weeks later, on Tuesday, June 24.
If you want a bigger challenge Absolution has the last boss fight called Ura. She controls hot steam and geysers on the mountain. If you have fought her before this time there are new things to watch out for to make the fight harder.
With the new Janthir Wilds update players can now have houses called homesteads. Arenanet is also improving this system in Absolution. You can now decorate your homestead with twice as many items up to 2,000. To do this you need to learn a new crafting skill called Grandmaster Handiworker and buy upgrades from Deft Lahar. There is also a new sky look you can buy for your homestead from the Black Lion Trading Company. Later this year new doorway decorations will be added too.
Arenanet is also making Guild Wars 2 easier to play. Now all players can use the Wizard's Portal Tome to open all teleport items in one place. There is also the Wizard's Gobbler which puts all converter items into one So you have more space in your inventory.
The Guild Wars 2 Janthir Wilds story is ending soon. Arenanet is already planning what’s next. In July they will share news about the next game expansion. Before that there will be many events and updates. In August there might be another test event for the PvP Push mode. In this mode like in Overwatch 2 and Marvel Rivals you and your team have to push an objective into the enemy’s base while stopping them from pushing it back to yours.
Arenanet has just released the last update called Absolution for Guild Wars 2 Janthir Wilds. The game is free to play.
