Fallout Wasteland and Stalker are some of the most important game series ever made. They have had many popular sequels, like Fallout 76, Wasteland 3 and Stalker 2. These games also inspired other post-apocalyptic games such as Rage 2, Surviving the Aftermath and Chernobylite 2: Exclusion Zone. A new game following this style is Scavland a 2D pixel art game. You can now try its demo on Steam.
Scavland is a survival game inspired by Stalker and Metro with a top-down view like the old Fallout games. You play as a character named Vulture exploring a destroyed Soviet-era world. Your goal is to stay alive and earn money in this dangerous wasteland.
The game's pixel art looks great and grabs your attention right away. You fight enemies using limited ammo and old broken guns. There are both human enemies and strange mutant creatures. You can trade items take on jobs in towns meet different groups of people and slowly discover the story. All this happens while you try to survive on a dangerous journey to a better place far to the east.
