Jurassic World Evolution 3 Ditches AI After Fan Outrage
I really enjoy theme park simulation games but after building so many rollercoasters and food stalls I sometimes want something with a bit more danger. That’s why I like the Jurassic World Evolution series so much. It’s exciting but also scary especially when dinosaurs escape and start attacking guests The newest game in the series Jurassic World Evolution 3 was just revealed and is set to release later this year. It promises many new features and improvements. However some fans are upset because the developers Frontier Developments said they are using AI to create character portraits.

The game was announced at the Summer Game Fest and while it’s not a huge change from the older games it still adds a lot of cool things. There are better tools to shape the land a new system to show dinosaur families (like males, females and babies) and beautiful new places to build your park like Japan and Hawaii. Jurassic World Evolution 2 is already one of the best park-building games out there but with all these upgrades the third game might be even better.

Everything was looking great but the reveal didn’t go smoothly. Fans quickly noticed a note on Steam saying that the portraits of NPC scientists in the game were made using generative AI. Many players weren’t happy about this and spoke out against it. Gamers often dislike when AI is used to make things that artists illustrators or writers would normally create by hand. After hearing the feedback the developers at Frontier decided to change their plan.

In a reply to a Steam community thread and a statement to Game Watcher Frontier said they have now removed the AI-generated portraits from Jurassic World Evolution 3. They also said the team is still working hard on the game and are excited for its release on October 21.

Frontier has reacted quickly and clearly which is a good thing. I’m really looking forward to seeing the new scientist portraits made by real people this time and I hope they look great otherwise it could become a problem again in the future.
