Nioh 2 is my favorite game like Dark Souls and right now it's super cheap before Nioh 3 comes out.
Like many great Soulslike games Nioh 2 has combat that’s simple to start but tough to master. There are lots of strategies and builds to try so the game feels fresh every time you play. Your character also has a really cool power that makes the game even more fun I’ll talk more about that later.
This game takes place in Japan during the Sengoku period before the first game’s story. You play as a character who is part human and part Yokai. The world is full of dangerous bandits scary Yokai monsters and a few helpful friends. The story isn’t very strong but it mainly exists to support the game’s great action gameplay.
As a Shiftling you can fight enemies in Japan as a human. You can also use Yokai Shift to turn into a strong monster that can smash anything. This makes the game more strategic because you have to decide the best time to use your power to beat the tough bosses that keep defeating you.
Nioh 2 is not an easy game even with the Yokai Shift. You need to change your fighting style quickly because of different stances while trying to save Japan. You can also play it like a fast hack-and-slash game which is fun but can be harder than learning all the rules.
Nioh 3 is coming soon so now is a great time to play Nioh 2. You can get Nioh 2 The Complete Edition for only $22.49 or £22.49 on Humble Bundle. It has the main game plus three extra DLCs and this is the cheapest price ever. I bought the game twice before on PS4 and PC and I think everyone should try it.
Out of all the new PC games coming soon I’m most excited about Nioh 3. The last game was really good. I keep playing it again and again. After writing this I will download it again to play. It feels great to defeat a big boss after getting strong as a Yokai.
