Noble Legacy A Relaxing Medieval City Builder Like Manor Lords

Noble Legacy is a new medieval city builder seen from a third-person view. It feels like Manor Lords but with less danger and more focus on solving problems.

If you’ve ever wanted to be a medieval ruler there are many games to try. Manor Lords was a big hit in 2024 and people also enjoy Medieval Dynasty. A new game called Noble Legacy is coming in July. It’s more relaxed with less fighting and more focus on building, customizing and managing a town. I played the beginning of the game and really liked how it mixes building and organizing workers similar to Valheim.

In Noble Legacy you don’t start from nothing. You come back from studying in the Holy Land to take over your father’s land. The people there are a bit disorganized but they seem happy to have someone lead them. Your relative Edward is with you and helps guide you though he’s maybe a bit too excited about making the peasants work. I decide to be kinder and help set up some basic things the people need.

You play the game from behind your character seeing things over their shoulder. You do many hands-on tasks like cutting trees, turning logs into planks and building houses. At the start you can use some ready-made buildings but most of the time, you build freely. You place floors, walls and items one by one. Each building works only if you add the right parts to it.

To build a Storehouse you need a Market Lodger desk, Market Storage crates and a strong enough building. You can check all of this easily in the codex. Once everything is ready the Storehouse will be set up automatically. Adding decorations can help it work faster. After that place a Market Stall nearby and assign a villager to sell items there. You can choose to sell all your fish and berries or save some for later.

You can also give the townspeople different jobs like cutting wood or working in the temple you fixed. New people show up in a list where you can choose who to bring in. Each one needs a place to live and has certain needs you must take care of. If you don’t meet their needs they’ll stop working until you fix the problem.

You’ll often get different problems to solve and you can choose how to deal with them. For example if a drunk monk comes to town and causes trouble you’ll need to clean up and find where he passed out. You can fix it yourself pay someone to help or take a chance and hope things work out on their own. But if you do nothing people might get upset.

This is just the start. You can place every door, window and item by hand if you want. But as the building tools improve you’ll be able to make whole villages very quickly. Some parts still feel a bit early but I like how fast you can switch between tasks and how much control you have over building. The game also lets you manage and hire people which makes it feel a bit like the Two Point games but with your own character in the middle. I also liked the help menu it answered all the small questions I had while learning the game.

Noble Legacy will come to Steam Early Access on Tuesday, July 15. You can try a free demo now. It gives you a small preview of the game. The developer Studio 369nsays the game currently uses some AI voices but these will be replaced with real human voices when the full game is released.
