Paradox's New FTL & Factorio-Style Colony Sim Is Free to Play Now

Stardeus is a colony simulation game by Paradox Arc. It looks like Factorio and has a style similar to FTL. You can try it for free on Steam.

Paradox the company behind games like Crusader Kings 3, Stellaris and Europa Universalis 4 has a special label called Paradox Arc that focuses on indie games. Since starting Arc in 2022 they have released games like Surviving the Abyss, Escape the Mad Empire, Starminer and Across the Obelisk. One popular game from Arc is Stardeus a colony simulation game that started Early Access in 2022. Now players can try Stardeus for free this weekend on Steam.

Stardeus is a game where you manage a broken spaceship drifting in space. The humans on board are sleeping so you play as the ship’s AI. You control a few drones to fix the ship and keep the crew alive. You must make smart choices to grow food make oxygen and energy and improve the ship. Along the way you meet aliens and other travelers facing challenges and chances to help the ship survive its journey.

Even though Stardeus is still in Early Access there is already a lot to do in the game. It is a bit complex but players really like it. On Steam it has an 87% rating which means most reviews are very positive.
