Pillars of Eternity 3 Could Be Like Baldur’s Gate 3 If Released
After the success of Avowed a first-person RPG in the same world it is unclear if there will be a third Pillars of Eternity game with an isometric view. But one of the main creators shared some ideas about it. In a new interview game designer Josh Sawyer talked about his vision for Pillars of Eternity 3 and it sounds similar to Baldur’s Gate 3.

Pillars of Eternity is still one of the best RPG games but it has been seven years since the last game Deadfire. Sawyer has some ideas to improve the next game. He thinks the third game should look like Baldur’s Gate 3 with 3D and more dynamic environments. He says it would be easier to make and more fun. He also wants to add new features like hills and changing terrain to make the game more strategic. Recently the first Pillars of Eternity game got an update that added turn-based fighting.

Josh Sawyer has worked in game development for a long time. He was the lead designer and project director for Fallout: New Vegas. He also helped design Neverwinter Nights 2. His latest game is Pentiment a story game about an artist in old Bavaria. Both Pillars of Eternity games were funded by fans before Xbox bought Obsidian in 2018.
