Microprose the publisher of Dagger Directive, Afterconflict and Exfil has surprised fans by announcing a new tank simulation game Spearhead 2.
Microprose has been doing really well lately. They've been bringing back old games and supporting new ones like Dagger Directive, Exfil, Battlefall: State of Conflict, B-17 Flying Fortress and Afterconflict. Now they’ve announced Spearhead 2 a sequel to their 1998 tank game. This new version focuses on co-op gameplay and features modern military tech similar to games like Steel Beasts or War Thunder.
Spearhead 2 continues the story almost 30 years after the first game. Just like the original it mixes simulation and action. Players can go into battle alone or with a team of up to 16 others.
The game’s missions happen in different parts of Europe and the Middle East. You can use real-life vehicles like APCs IFVs and the M1A2 Abrams tank. Spearhead 2 focuses on strategy but also gives fast action. You need to think carefully to complete tasks like defending bases taking out key enemies, surviving attacks, ambushing convoys and clearing cities.
Microprose’s big surprise is this new sequel but they also plan to bring back the original Spearhead on Steam.
Spearhead 2 doesn’t have a release date yet but you can learn more or add it to your wishlist on Steam.
