The First Descendant Season 3 Launches New Region + Early Demo

The First Descendant Season 3 adds a new area called Axion Plains to the free Steam shooter game. It also brings a hover bike and a raid where eight players can play together.

The First Descendant Season 3 now has a release date. You can try out a big new area and ride hover bikes early. The free game’s next update is called Breakthrough. It takes place in a dangerous place called the Axion Plains. This season is an important part of the story. It also adds a new character to play, swords to use an eight-player raid a social hangout and a special event with Nier Automata.

In Season 3 of The First Descendant you will explore the Axion Plains. This big battlefield used to be a good outpost but was damaged by a storm and is now full of Colossus. To move around faster you get a new hover bike. When you start the free Steam game in Season 3 you will get a basic bike and you can find more bikes while exploring the Axion Plains.

The Colossus Field Raid is a big fight for eight players. It’s so large that you’ll want to bring your hover bike to help you get around. In this battle you’ll face a huge enemy called the Wall Crasher. Also you can now use swords for the first time. There are three kinds of swords to choose from and more types like a big two-handed sword and a lightsaber-style sword will come later in Season 3 Episode 2.

With the summer update Nell is now a playable character. She is an Albion officer who fights using telekinetic spheres to pull enemies closer and weaken them. Her gunshots can also temporarily hit enemy weak spots. Another character Ultimate Luna is also joining. She can either make her debuffs stronger or use guns more in her fighting style. Later in Episode 2 Nexon will add Ultimate Yujin.

During Season 3 there will be the first official crossover with outfits from Nier Automata’s 2B and A2 coming to The First Descendant. Nexon said these will be just cosmetic items for now because they want to focus on making the game better. On Wednesday June 11 the developers will do a livestream to show more about the Breakthrough update including a new social area called the Lounge and other things players can look forward to before Season 3 starts.

The First Descendant Season 3 Breakthrough starts on Thursday, August 7. You can try a demo of the update early from Thursday, July 24. You can pre-register now to get rewards like a Descendant Selection Box and a special title. If many players pre-register more rewards will be unlocked including a Transcendent Module an Ultimate Weapon Selection Box and at one million players an Ultimate Descendant Selection Box.
