The Marvel Rivals 3.5 update is changing many Team-Up abilities. Some heroes will get new Team-Ups some will have their abilities changed and a few Team-Ups are being removed completely.
The Marvel Rivals 3.5 update is almost here and it’s bringing a lot of exciting new content for players to enjoy. This update comes in the middle of the third season of the game and it's meant to keep things fresh and fun for everyone playing. Marvel Rivals is a free-to-play team-based shooter and this new update is adding even more reasons to jump back into the action. One of the biggest new features is the addition of a new playable hero Blade. Yes Blade the famous vampire hunter from Marvel comics is being added to the roster giving players a brand-new character to master. Along with Blade the update is also introducing new game modes which means you’ll have more ways to enjoy the game.
But this update isn’t just about adding new content it’s also about changing the way the game is played. The developers are making balance changes to help shake up the current meta or in other words the most popular and powerful strategies that players are using right now. This means that some heroes might get stronger others might get weaker and players will have to rethink how they play. One of the biggest changes coming in the 3.5 update is a major refresh of the Team-Up system. Team-Ups are special abilities that let certain heroes combine their powers for a cool combo move. These moves are powerful and useful especially when players work together in a smart way. In this update Team-Ups are being reworked updated and in some cases completely removed.
While it’s always possible to try and win matches by playing selfishly and focusing only on getting kills Marvel Rivals rewards teamwork much more. Choosing the right heroes and combining their strengths through Team-Ups can often lead to better results than just trying to be the top slayer. These Team-Up abilities show how powerful coordination can be and they’re a big part of the game’s strategy. However the developers at NetEase are planning to make some big changes to how Team-Ups work in the 3.5 update. Their goal is to keep the game exciting and balanced which is something many of the best free PC games try to do regularly. Still for some players these changes might be a little disappointing especially if a Team-Up involving your favorite hero is being removed.
Let’s talk about the two Team-Ups that are being removed completely in this update. The first one is called Guardian Revival. This ability allowed Adam Warlock to team up with either Mantis or Star-Lord creating a powerful combo. That Team-Up will no longer be available once the update goes live. The second Team-Up being removed is called Atlas Bond. This one involved Iron Fist and Luna Snow and it’s also being taken out of the game entirely. These removals are part of the effort to refresh the meta but they may leave some fans of these characters feeling a bit sad.
In the new Marvel Rivals 3.5 update some changes are being made to how characters can team up in battles. One big change is that Loki will no longer be able to use the Ragnarok Rebirth ability with Hela. That means the special combo move that used to involve Loki and Hela is now limited to just Thor and Hela. Loki has been removed from this Team-Up ability so players who enjoyed using him for that trick will need to adjust their strategy.
But don’t worry this update isn’t just about removing things. Netease is also adding two brand-new Team-Ups to make things fresh and exciting especially for heroes who were affected by the changes above. The first new Team-Up is called Duality Dance and it gives Luna Snow a chance to pair up with Adam Warlock. The second new Team-Up is called Vibrant Vitality and it allows Mantis to partner with either Loki or Groot. This means Mantis will now have more powerful ways to work with different heroes. If you're curious to see how these new Team-Ups look in action there's a preview video available that gives an early glimpse at how they’ll work in the game.
In addition to these new Team-Ups Netease is also changing who can appear in some of the existing Team-Up abilities. For example Iron Fist can now join the Chilling Assault Team-Up which previously only included Luna Snow and Hawkeye. Also the Rocket Network Team-Up is getting updated to include Star-Lord who can now team up with Rocket Raccoon alongside Peni Parker. Another Team-Up called Lunar Force used to only feature Cloak & Dagger and Moon Knight but now it’s being expanded to include Blade a brand-new hero joining the roster in this update.
All of these changes are part of the Marvel Rivals Season 3.5 update which is set to launch on Friday August 8. Closer to that date Netease will release official patch notes that explain all the detailed balance changes for individual heroes. But for now this early information about the new and updated Team-Ups should help players get ready and plan their strategies for the upcoming changes. With so many heroes gaining new abilities and partnerships the gameplay meta is sure to shift once the patch goes live.
