Baldur's Gate 3 Studio Larian Hard at Work on Next Big Game

Larian the developer of Baldur's Gate 3 says they are working on two new big games and are really focused on these exciting projects.

Baldur’s Gate 3 patch 8 is out and with it Larian’s work on the game is done. While they may release some bug fixes later patch 8 is the last update with new content. Now the studio is focusing on its next projects as they are working on two new games. Although we will likely have to wait a while to see them Larian’s CEO Swen Vincke says development is going well.

As of Right now we don't know what Larian is working on next. They started making a sequel to Baldur’s Gate 3 but decided to work on something new instead though we don’t know what it is yet. I am hoping one of their upcoming RPGs will be sci-fi as I’d love to see them bring their fantasy skills to a new genre.

Vincke Confident Larian's Next Game Will Be as Big or Bigger Than BG3

Vincke says in a new GameSpot interview We are working hard on our next big project. It’s going well but it’s really ambitious. There’s so much new stuff we can do now so it’s complicated.

We're also trying to figure out how to make two games. We have mentioned that we are working on both. Organizing everything for that is not easy because we create complex games with lots of choices for players. It's hard to predict when they will be finished.

Vincke says that Larian isn't aiming to get much bigger. Instead they plan to use their developers for both projects if possible. However he mentions that managing two big games at once is complicated so we will have to wait and see which one gets revealed first.
