Hollow Knight: The Sanctuary is a fan-made expansion announced in 2021. It has now resurfaced to confirm that it is live and more news will be shared soon.
I also feels like Hollow Knight fans have spent the past few years just waiting for something to happen like the big issue no one talks about. That's certainly true in terms of official releases but it also applies to the enthusiastic fan made projects that have surfaced since Hollow Knight was first released.
Which brings us to Hollow Knight: The Sanctuary a fan-made project that acts as a free expansion for Hollow Knight and gives players the opportunity to explore a new area, named Sanctuary. The expansion was announced nearly four years ago and ever since its trailer was revealed that is until a few days ago it has been largely missing.
Hollow Knight The Sanctuary Is Alive With More News Coming Soon
As GamesRadar+ reports the announcement that Hollow Knight: The Sanctuary is alive and well came from a tweet by Stijl one of the key members of The Sanctuary team. A few days ago Stijl suddenly tweeted a gameplay clip from The Sanctuary and eased everyone is worries by saying The Sanctuary is alive.
The new footage offers a quick new look at The Sanctuary in action and once again confirms that it is an ambitious project. While not much else was revealed about it other than that it has not been canceled nearly four years after its announcement. Stijl did offer a small update in response to the tweet.
After initially asking other playtesters to sign up to try out The Sanctuary Stijl said he hopes fans stay tuned to learn more about this mode in the coming weeks. Playtesters say there is still work to do on The Sanctuary but it seems like the long wait will soon be over.
