The action game Steel Seed is now available on PC letting you sneak and fight through a large facility full of dangerous robots.
When time and money are tight a long and expensive action game is not always the best choice. Sometimes you need a shorter (and hopefully better) game. There are many options but the newest one is Steel Seed, a sci-fi adventure with stealth elements that feels like a mix of Stellar Blade Uncharted and Assassin’s Creed.
In Steel Seed, you play as Zoe who has a robot body and is joined by her floating robot friend, Koby. Your mission is to explore an underground facility full of dangerous machines to find your father. Zoe’s look and skills are inspired by the Blame! manga and RoboCop according to the games developer Storm in a Teacup.
You'll move through the facility with climbing, jumping across ledges and running over bridges while explosions go off. There will be a mix of combat, somewhere between hack-and-slash and soulslike and stealth parts. You can use Koby to distract enemies or bring them closer and or sneak through long grass to stay hidden.
Most of the game is in 3D and played from behind the character but sometimes it changes to a 2D side view when you take cover or move around obstacles.
Zoe and Koby can be improved using a skill tree and there will also be some easy puzzles to solve, with your robot helper usually involved.
Our very own Ed Smith was really excited about Steel Seed when he played an early version a year ago and now the final game is out. Steel Seed is available on Steam and the Epic Games Store for PC players. It’s currently 15% off priced at $32.38 / £28.47.
