Since Rockstar released the GTA 6 trailer 2 unexpectedly excitement for their next game has grown a lot. Although the release of the next Grand Theft Auto has been delayed we’ve still got a great look at new cutscenes gameplay and screenshots. Now a former Rockstar developer explains these new images and shares how long the game has been in the making.

Even though we know the release date for Grand Theft Auto 6. there's still a lot to discover about Rockstar's version of Florida. The second trailer shows a mix of gameplay and cutscenes with beautiful visuals of the sunny beaches we haven't explored yet. While we wait for GTA 6. former Rockstar artist David O'Reilly has shown us new screenshots of the game and shared some details about its development.

I worked as an environment artist at Rockstar for 12 years and left in 2023. I worked on GTA 6 from 2018 to 2023 after finishing work on Red Dead Redemption 2.

It's really cool to see all this stuff because the lighting looks amazing. They added something special to everything making it. look way different from the last time I saw it. Most of my time with [GTA 6] was in debug mode So it was more of a development version.

It's amazing. right? This was captured on a PS5 and I think it shows what we'll see when it's released O'Reilly says (via TheGamer).

According to O'Reilly. it seems that Rockstar has been working on Grand Theft Auto 6 since at least 2018. Red Dead Redemption 2 was released that year after several delays so it's likely that Rockstar began focusing on GTA 6 after that game was finished.

Be sure to watch all of O'Reilly's videos because they give great insight not only about GTA 6 but also about game development in general.
