Starless Abyss Lovecraft-Inspired Tactical Roguelike Gets Even More Rewarding

Starless Abyss is a Lovecraftian roguelike strategy game that increases rewards to help you get more powerful tools. It features a new reroll system and options to salvage items.

I'm not sure why the unknown is so fascinating. but Lovecraft's style of horror is definitely appealing. In April a new game called Starless Abyss will be released. It's a roguelike strategy game where scientists and occult worshippers must work together to fight powerful invading Outer Gods. The game has Received great feedback with 85% of Steam reviews recommending it. Now the developers at Konafa Games are making sure there will be even more options for players.

Starless Abyss puts you in the role of a Proxima a skilled person who is awakened by Counter Horror a group of scientists and occult experts fighting against a mysterious threat. As you travel across a map. it feels like games like FTL or Slay the Spire where you choose your path through different events and challenges. Battles happen on a hex-grid and you control a fleet of ships using a deck of cards that you build as you play.

After a few weeks to settle in Konafa is rolling out its first big update Spoils of the Abyss. The studio says We’re adding a lot of new content plenty of free stuff and more chances to earn rewards. Now you can explore the Starless Abyss with even more tools and options than before.

Whenever you get rewards you can choose to reroll or salvage them. Rerolling uses dice and works for both ships and artifacts. Salvaging gives different results: cards and rituals become dice, breaking ships gives HP repair and scrapping artifacts gives credits.

The free rewards given after every three fights and random encounters will now only come from your faction’s cards and Counter Horror cards. This should give you better more suitable choices for your loadout. When you visit a shipyard you can pick which ship to upgrade and upgrade several ships in one visit if you have enough credits.
