Every FromSoftware game takes practice. They’re tough but by learning the mechanics and bosses you can use the systems to win. This applies to Dark Souls, Bloodborne, Sekiro and Armored Core that's why you can defeat the Asylum Demon and Tree Sentinel on your first try. I believe Elden Ring Nightreign will follow this design. but changes are coming. After the recent network test FromSoftware has listened to feedback on the difficulty and is making adjustments to improve balance.

The release date for Elden Ring Nightreign is just weeks away and FromSoftware is focusing on the game. Feedback from earlier network tests has led to some major changes before launch. Whether you played the test or not it’s important to know what’s changing in Elden Ring Nightreign before it releases.

Game director Junya Ishizaki said that during the network test Fromsoftware got useful feedback about the game's difficulty. He mentioned that the team made changes to make the game challenging as players progress. but still manageable. Gladius, one of the Nightlords will also be updated. So players can look forward to that in the final game.

It's not clear what these difficulty changes will mean for the launch version. but it seems like FromSoftware is making adjustments to make Nightreign easier. They are also changing how information is shown during the game as Ishizaki knows some map elements were confusing.

Some players had trouble understanding what was visible on the map and figuring out what to do next or how to use certain character moves during the network test. To fix this we made changes to make the information clearer during gameplay.

In his interview with Playstation.blog Ishizaki mentions that the strategy in Nightreign already felt repetitive during the network test and shares how FromSoftware plans to fix it.

The same strategy won’t always work against the bosses. At first your plan might work. but the bosses will change and your tactics won’t be effective anymore. You'll need to come up with a new approach.

In the final version of the game you'll be able to learn each boss's weakness before facing them. For example if a boss is weak to poison you can look for items that deal poison damage. Using their weakness will help you in the fight. The game is designed so that you'll need to adjust your strategies as things change.

Nightreign is almost here and we'll have to wait until launch to see how these changes affect balance. These adjustments are one of the main reasons FromSoftware did the network test to listen to players and make adjustments.
