To join the Mages Guild in Oblivion Remastered. go to any of the seven guild branches in major cities in Cyrodiil and talk to the leader. Choose the Join the Mages Guild option and follow the conversation.
The Mages Guild has branches in Anvil, Bravil, Bruma, Cheydinhal, Chorrol, Leyawiin and Skingrad. The Imperial City doesn't have a branch. but it has the Arcane University which we will explain more about in the next section.
Once you are in the club you will get a Mages Guild Charter and a Mages Guild Key. The key will open most doors in each branch giving you access to their libraries a bed to rest and a chest to store your loot.
You can collect most items found in each branch like food, soul gems and valuables such as Alembics which you can sell to guild members. This is really helpful if you're low on coins in the early game.
How to Get Mages Guild Recommendations in Oblivion Remastered
Once you join the Mages Guild you can do a Recommendation quest from each branch leader. After you get all seven Recommendations. you will become an Apprentice and get full access to the Arcane University in the Imperial City. There you can create your own spells and enchant your equipment.
