Mafia: The Old Country officially Release Date
Mafia The Old Country will be released on Friday August 8, 2025. The release date was first leaked by 2K and was later confirmed in the Whatever It Takes gameplay trailer.
Mafia The Old Country will be released on PC through Steam and on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S consoles.
The release date for The Mafia: The Old Country was leaked in a post on the LATAM version of the official Steam hub which has since been edited. Although it might have been a placeholder the launch date has now been confirmed.
2K first announced that Mafia: The Old Country would be released sometime between April 1, 2025 and December 31, 2025 in a press release with the games reveal trailer at Gamescom 2024. Later the release window was narrowed to Summer 2025 during The Initiation trailer at The Game Awards 2024.
The release date for The Old Country is different from previous Mafia games. Mafia 3 came out on October 7, 2016 and Mafia Definitive Edition launched on September 25, 2020. We thought it would release in late September or early October 2025. but the good news is it will be out even sooner than we expected.

The first trailer for Mafia: The Old Country was revealed at Gamescom Opening Night Live 2024. It shows off stunning artwork fine wine and a big shotgun giving us a great preview of what's to come in the game.
The Old Country is set in 1900s Sicily. The trailer starts with a bottle of wine labeled Sicilla 1903 which seems like a great vintage. At the end of the trailer We see a mysterious figure walking across the screen but we never find out who they are.
Based on Mafia stories we first thought this character might be a younger Don Salieri since he moved from Sicily to America in 1908. We also guessed that the narrator could be Don Peppone talking about Salieri joining the Peppone family after he arrived in Lost Heaven.
The prequel idea was dismissed after the release of The Initiation trailer. Instead, we meet a new main character Enzo Favara who joins the Torrisi family. The trailer also gives us a look at Sicily and shows some exciting scenes of action and combat.
The first official gameplay trailer of The Old Country starts with Don Torrisi talking to Enzo about the importance of honor loyalty and obedience. He says You handled Messina but this isn't over. Will you help me finish it? The trailer then shows Enzo in action With scenes of a wild car chase through the town a gunfight in a fancy hall and a knife fight up close.

Mafia: The Old Country takes place in the rough world of 1900s Sicily. The story follows Enzo Favara a character who slowly gets deeper into Sicily's hidden criminal world showing every tense moment of his journey.
In a press release with the reveal trailer Hangar 13 said the game will focus on survival featuring action and strong storytelling that fans of the Mafia series expect.
Hangar 13 president Nick Baynes promises the studio will bring back a classic Mafia story. They aim to create a deep straightforward story with a mob movie vibe, set in a beautiful new location all in a focused immersive experience for fans.

After the game was revealed at Gamescom Opening Night Live 2024 in August. people noticed that Italian was missing from the language options on the Steam page. Hangar 13 quickly replied saying the game would feature Sicilian voice acting and Italian would be available for the in-game UI and subtitles.
Mafia The Old Country is now available for preorder. Preordering gives you the Soldato cosmetics pack and an exclusive charm when the game launches. This is the only bonus for the standard edition. The deluxe edition comes with the Padrino and Gatto Nero cosmetics packs plus a digital artbook and the original soundtrack.
