Nine Sols a stunning 2D action platformer and Metroidvania game with combat inspired by Sekiro is now on sale at its lowest price ever on Steam.

Even though all signs suggest that Hollow Knight: Silksong might launch this year. it's best not to get your hopes up too much. Instead dive into another great 2D Metroidvania game that has the same action and platforming style as Team Cherry’s classic. Nine Sols inspired by Elden Ring by FromSoftware is one of the best games I've played recently that could rival Hollow Knight. Right now it's also cheaper than ever on Steam.

Last time I was away from home for a week. I played Nine Sols on my Steam Deck. It works great on portable devices. I knew the developers Red Candle Games were inspired by Sekiro for the combat. but I was still surprised by how good it felt to land deflections and counters. The game is hard I died a lot early on but once you get the hang of the moves. it becomes a really fun action game.

Aside from the combat this indie game is really great. The recent release of Clair Obscur Expedition 33 showed how important a strong start is and Nine Sols caught my attention right away with its exciting opening and surprising twists. The hand-drawn backgrounds are beautiful and there are enough different paths to keep you interested.

Don't stress about Silksong not being out yet. The first Hollow Knight showed how small teams can make amazing games if given the opportunity. I had a similar experience this year with Ultros a unique and colorful space adventure.
