If you take a close look at Dead by Daylight's new roadmap you might notice a hidden hint related to a spinoff of The Walking Dead.
Behaviour Interactive shared a lot of exciting news with Dead by Daylight fans during its PAX East showcase. This included the full reveal of the Five Nights at Freddy's chapter Witcher skins confirmation of a community-designed chapter and more. They also released a roadmap showing that five new chapters will be coming in the next year including the FNAF one. Three will be licensed and two will be original. At the end of the stream game director Mathieu Cote gave a mysterious hint saying that the theme for the chapter after FNAF had already been teased.
Fans of the horror game quickly spotted some faded letters on DBD's new roadmap. There are 14 letters and unless the community figured it out differently than expected they seem to spell: The Ones Who Live. A big thanks to u/Batman-1989 for solving it quickly. If you like The Walking Dead you might know this phrase. If not here's a quick explanation. After the main show ended a miniseries called The Ones Who Live was made. It aired on AMC last year and features Andrew Lincoln and Danai Gurira returning as Rick and Michonne Grimes. The series is about their reunion and they are the main characters. This is an important point to remember.
Why? Because the next chapter after Five Nights at Freddy's won’t have any new Killers. but it will add two new Survivors. This idea makes a lot of sense to me. Unless something unexpected happens the two new Survivors will probably be Rick and Michonne.
Once the new Dead by Daylight (DBD) chapter with Five Nights at Freddy’s is finished The Walking Dead is likely coming next. Behaviour hasn’t officially confirmed it yet but it seems very likely. If the roadmap is right The Walking Dead chapter should arrive in July 2025.
