Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 Marks a Turning Point for the RPG Industry Say Fans

A Reddit user named 8118dx was the first to say this. They hope Clair Obscur will inspire game studios to change how they think. Instead of spending hundreds of millions on huge games they believe studios can make popular games with small teams and lower budgets.

In a post on a gaming subreddit a user named Shawng7777 describes Clair Obscur as a $50 masterpiece in an $80 industry and says that the price to make a game doesn't always mean it will be good. Other users mention successful low-budget games like Lies of P and the newer Schedule 1.

Sure big games like The Witcher 4 and GTA 6 are coming and will probably be huge hits. But games like Clair Obscur show that sometimes all you need is a group of talented passionate developers a great idea and a bit of luck to create something amazing. As 8118dx says we need a return to form in not just RPGs but other genres too and Clair Obscur looks like it might be the proof of that.
