Ubisoft Delays Some of Its Biggest Game Releases

Ubisoft says some new games for its big series will take longer to come out. But they still have some games coming soon.

Ubisoft really needed a big success and they finally got it with Assassin's Creed Shadows. But they had to delay the game twice to make sure it was good. Learning from that Ubisoft now says it will delay some of its biggest games planned for this year. They didn’t say which games. but it probably means fans will wait longer for the next Assassin's Creed the Splinter Cell remake and a new Ghost Recon game.

A few weeks ago Ubisoft said they are making a new company with help from Tencent a big Chinese company. Tencent is putting in more than a billion dollars. This new company will work on Ubisoft’s three biggest games: Assassin’s Creed, Far Cry and Rainbow Six. Ubisoft’s main company will focus on other games and try to save money and work better. Because of this and because Assassin’s Creed Shadows was delayed Ubisoft is giving more time to finish some games they planned to release by April 2026.

Ubisoft looked closely at its upcoming games from October to December. They decided to give more time to finish some big games to make them better. This extra time already helped improve Assassin's Creed Shadows. Because of this the company expects to grow a lot in the years 2026-27 and 2027-28 compared to 2025-26 thanks to new games from their biggest series.

I’m just guessing here because Ubisoft hasn’t said which games or projects are delayed. But I think this might affect the Splinter Cell remake which is supposed to come out in 2026 and maybe also Assassin’s Creed Hexe which was announced in 2022 but doesn’t have a release date yet.

Ubisoft will still release some new PC games in the next year. Two games that are coming are the strategy game Anno 117 Pax Romana (planned for 2025) and the remake of Prince of Persia The Sands of Time (planned for 2026). Ubisoft says these games will come out this financial year. They also said there are other games coming but they will share more details later.

Ubisoft is taking more time to finish some games. There are rumors about new projects but nothing is confirmed. One report says a new Ghost Recon game might come out in 2025 or 2026. People also say Far Cry 7 could be released in 2026. There might also be a new game like an extraction shooter being made.

People say Ubisoft might make some new games. These could be a new version of Assassin's Creed Black Flag a multiplayer Assassin's Creed game and a battle royale game like Apex Legends. But Ubisoft is changing how they work and saving money. So we don’t know if or when these games will come out.
