Warframe, like many long-running online games. can be a lot to take in. What started as a simple action game with players controlling powerful suits has turned into something much bigger. Over the past 12 years the creators, Digital Extremes have added everything from fishing and dating to hoverboards and more. Because of this in 2025 they plan to make the game easier for new players to understand.

At Pax East 2025. Digital Extremes held Warframe devstream 188. They discussed the upcoming story chapter Isleweaver and the Yareli Prime update coming later this month. There are many updates planned for the game this year with changes that will help new players join in more easily.


Starting on Wednesday May 21 with the Yareli Prime update. big changes are coming to how Warframes and their weapons are shown to you. Digital Extremes is adding new categories in the Arsenal making it easier to understand how each item works. Warframes will be labeled as Damage, Crowd Control, Support, Survival or Stealth. So you’ll know what they do right away. Weapons will also be organized into categories So it's simple to pick out a shotgun, submachine gun or light blade.

There are over 50 Warframes and many weapons in the game and these systems help make it easier to navigate from the beginning. Digital Extremes is also working to improve the difficulty and variety of gameplay for new players So you'll experience different types of combat right from the start.

Some enemies like the Bailiffs are now added as mini-bosses in Grineer missions. Ballistas have been improved with lock-on abilities and updated visuals to make them more interesting. Eviscerators now have a new feature that makes them harder to avoid adding more challenge.

Digital Extremes has more planned for June's Isleweaver update. First they are introducing Junctions which are solo missions to help you learn Warframe’s basics and move through the Star Chart to unlock more of the game. Starting with the Isleweaver update selecting a Junction will show you all the tasks and rewards giving you more details.

Before you had to beat a Junction's Specter to get all the rewards. Now things are changing. You can complete a Junction Task on your own and get a specific reward plus extra rewards for defeating the Specter. This lets you enjoy the benefits of Junctions over time making them easier to tackle.

Digital Extremes is changing Vor in the Isleweaver update. This update is your first chance to face Warframe bosses. The team wants his fight to be more exciting but not too hard. They’ve added new and improved mechanics to help you learn how to fight tough enemies.
