The game Timberborn a city builder where you control beavers has become more flexible. It has been in early access since September 2021 and is very popular with 95% of players recommending it. The latest update called Ziplines and Tubeways brings big improvements. It adds new transport systems, similar to Satisfactory and more tools for shaping the land which fans of Minecraft or Terraria would love.

Timberborn is a great city builder because it has a fun cast of animals and a unique focus on building upwards. In its post-human world you’ll face challenges like toxic waste droughts and floods. You need to build both up and out. as the environment limits your space. During flooding seasons it’s important to create safe channels to control the water and protect your buildings.

You'll need to gather resources like wood, but for more advanced creations you'll need metal which you can find in the ruins of the old world. There are two different factions to choose from each with their own special traits, buildings and technology making it feel like two games in one. No matter which faction you pick. you’ll need to keep your beaver colony happy and healthy.

With the new Ziplines and Tubeways there are many new tricks and tools that will change how you build. The Folktails use ziplines to quickly zoom above the land and structures between stations. The Iron Teeth on the other hand need to plan carefully as their Tubeways are built on the ground. However they are more flexible over time and can resist both water and toxic badwater.

You can now place terrain blocks on any solid surface. like roofs, platforms and overhangs. This opens up new possibilities such as growing crops or forests on platforms above buildings making small hanging gardens or creating caves for your beavers. Plus you can now dig tunnels directly through walls.

Thanks to these updates the layer tool has been improved. It now lets you hide not only structures and water but also the terrain. You can easily click on a tile to jump to that specific layer. It also shows the terrain briefly if you’re trying to delete something that might affect other parts of your world.

The power shafts have been redesigned to adapt and change shape as you build around them. This makes it easier to expand your power network without deleting pieces and causing outages. You can also create vertical power connections. The map editor has been updated with new tools Making it easier to create custom regions.
